Weekly Reports (Weeks 14-17, April 2025)
Non-compliant Cosmetics:
Total of 276 batches of non-compliant cosmetics were notified across the four weekly reports.
Perfumes remained the most frequently reported category (>40% of total cases), largely due to excessive concentrations of banned allergens.
Top Notifying Country
Italy issued 242 notifications, marking its third consecutive month (January, February, April 2025) as the leading notifying country.
A majority of the non-compliant cosmetics were manufactured in Italy itself.
Major Violations
Lilial (Butylphenyl methylpropional): 260 batches violated regulations due to prohibited levels of this fragrance allergen.
Other Restricted Substances
Hydroquinone, Lyral (hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde), linalool, benzyl alcohol, mercury, and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) were also identified in non-compliant products.
